  • Gather all of the essentials such as identification, printed itinerarys, transport details, and tickets in a small and easy to carry backpack. The Transportation Security Administration does not require children under 18 to show identification when traveling with an adult within the U.S. For more details on identification requirements, visit the TSA Website.

  • If you’re traveling with a baby, infant supplies like bottles, formula milk, and wet wipes can go into this bag. Airplane restrooms have changing tables in them, but you might want to pack a changing pad for your baby's comfort.
  • If your child is under 18 and may be traveling alone, check your airline's rules and services. Airline rules vary for the ages at which children can travel alone and must comply with certain restrictions.
  • If you plan to check a car seat or buggy/stroller to your destination, research your airline's policies on these items. You may want to purchase a large bag to prevent damage to your items. You can also check the airline's policy on bringing a car seat or buggy on to the airplane."

When traveling with children, add some extra time for bathroom stops and other unplanned activities. For domestic travel, we suggest you plan to arrive at the airport about two hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. For international travel, we recommend arriving three hours prior to the scheduled departure.

If you drive to the airport, you can reserve
parking online.

Check-In Check-In

Many airlines offer mobile check-in the day before your flight, so you can already be checked in for the flight when you arrive at the airport.

If you haven't yet checked in for your flight, need to check luggage, a car seat or stroller, or have questions about your children's tickets, see an agent at the Check-in desk for your airline. In many instances an infant traveling on your lap will still need a boarding pass, and the agent can help you obtain one.

We understand you don’t want to make your kids wait in the long line. Estimated wait time for security check is displayed at the entrance of the security check point and on our airport website.

To ensure your security, all travelers are required to undergo screening. However, TSA has developed modified screening procedures for children who appear to be 12 years old and younger. Please visit TSA web site for further information.
