LaGuardia Airport is served by five different bus routes operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The M60 and the free LaGuardia Link Q70 are Select Bus Services, which make fewer stops and feature luggage racks and more seating. The Q47, Q48, and Q72 buses make many local stops throughout nearby neighborhoods in the borough of Queens.
Most people traveling to/from Manhattan, other boroughs, or the Greater New York region will use a Select Bus Service and either the subway or one of the MTA’s two regional commuter rail networks, Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad.
Please note that the Q72 and LaGuardia Link Q70 only serve Terminals B and C.
Bus stop is to the right upon exiting the terminal, past the Departures Hall, and across the street.
Bus stop is on Level 1, two floors below check-in and one floor below baggage claim.
Bus stop is on Level 1, one floor below check-in and located on same level as baggage claim outside doors 14.
All MTA buses and subways accept contactless payment via credit/debit card or mobile wallet – just tap your card or device to the OMNY screen at a subway turnstile or as you board a bus.
You can also purchase a refillable MetroCard from the ticket machines at LaGuardia Airport or in any subway station. When taking the M60 using a MetroCard, insert it into the curbside machines to get a paper ticket before boarding. For local buses, dip your MetroCard into the farebox at the front of the bus. The LaGuardia Link Q70 is fare free, and you do not need a ticket to board.
A one-way subway/bus trip costs $2.90. The fare allows one free transfer between the subway and bus – be sure to use the same payment method for the second leg of your journey to avoid paying an additional fare.
Commuter rail fares are distance-based – use the MTA website to find fares and schedules for your trip. Tickets can be purchased from machines at any station or in the MTA TrainTime app.
More detailed information on fares is available from the MTA.
